While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not religious. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you have to believe in order to benefit from this healing practice. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and it can provide relief and healing whether you believe in it or not.  It is based on the idea that the body has an energy field that is central to health and well being. Blockages and weakness of these energy pathways can show up as stress, frustration, malaise, depression, illness and disease. The Reiki practitioner addresses blockages and weakness through the subtle energy system referred to as the chakra system with their hands either lightly touching or not touching at all. The chakra system is the seven energy centers along the middle of the body connected with the nervous and endocrine systems. Given this, here is what we know. You will feel better and that can mean lighter, freer, more relaxed and better able to manage living, working, relating to others and often sleeping more soundly.
